95% of the information on the web is written language. It is only logical to say that a web designer should get good training in the main discipline of shaping written information, in other words: Typography.

brilliant idea of game based on printing, drawing and scanning the game space - very interesting take on game level design, the idea could be developed further in many many ways. it is also quite interesting to see the relationship it creates in between digital tools (3D game engine) and hand drawn things (the characters).
Print the puzzle from within Mightier using a color printer. Solve the puzzle by drawing on the page with a dark pencil or marker. Scan the puzzle into the game using an attached web camera. A high-powered space laser carves the solution and the Actionaut is dropped onto the surface. Take control of the Actionaut and collect all the Datagons in each sector.

Synergy lets you easily share a single mouse and keyboard between multiple computers with different operating systems, each with its own display, without special hardware. It's intended for users with multiple computers on their desk since each system uses its own monitor(s).
Redirecting the mouse and keyboard is as simple as moving the mouse off the edge of your screen. Synergy also merges the clipboards of all the systems into one, allowing cut-and-paste between systems. Furthermore, it synchronizes screen savers so they all start and stop together and, if screen locking is enabled, only one screen requires a password to unlock them all. Learn more about how it works.

This morning batch of republished articles on R-Echos seemed
so perfectly tight I decided to make a collection out of it.
I searched a few more articles and assembled all of them
in this issue: SCANNERS. This selection reflects a couple of
thoughts we exchanged with Philippe around the Republishing
event discussion project we are setting up with Tlktlk. -

The Unified Font Object (UFO) is a cross-platform, cross-application, human readable, future proof format for storing font data.
The UFO Design Philosophy:
1 - The data must be human readable and human editable.
2 - The data should be application independent.
3 - Data duplication should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.it uses XML and .plist

on how to reduce ink coverage limit - useful when printing rich blacks in offset:
shift+cmd+k brings up colour settings, then go to the 'CMYK' drop down menu. Then go to 'custom CMYK', it's the first option in the box, then set your Black Ink Limit and/or Total Ink Limit. (play with values) Then convert your image from RGB to CMYK and it'll use the new calculations to keep the ink density to 200% as opposed to PS's default 300%.
