* this morning i really like the home page “Under construction” from Anouk’s website: those red rectangle create a real strong and beautiful effect. I’m not too sure aboutwhat the series are about, but their replication/multiplication – up to the point the whole becomes a background – really catched my eye.
Nice!

* after much trials, hesitations, and changes, i decided to radically simplify http://jeromerigaud.com – it now acts mainly as a contact hub which dispatch then links and information.

Today we published 2 new pages on the Electronest website:
Electronest Aggregated and Electronic Presence.
Both are resulting from frustration; Electronest Aggregated allow visitors to have a more global perception of our different website (there’s still tons of work to be done to make the experience smoother). Electronic Presence will be used as a ressource page on the concept of Electronic Presence.

One for Martino Gamper website based on a custom wordpress, and the blog of PlatformTwo at RCA design department.
The first re-invigoration for GamperMartino.com is about clearing the access to project based categories and archives, and adding a third column on the right to display more common things he can come accross. The column auto adjust automatically in height, is simple but yet effective, and allow one huge screens to display more projects at once.

The PlatformTwo re-invigoration is based on a some organisational and educational changes inside the platform, the catch pharse not being anymore ‘design activism’, but ‘design communalism’ which aim is now to focus on design practices which involve or take place within communities. Therefore the platform needed a re-arrangement of the original design to bring on top a few new projects they are working on.
Yesterday, I was at the RCA Design department ‘work in progress show’ – and the results are already quite interesting.

It has been a bit longer than we expected – but it’s back in the game now.
Some bits were lost, the interface changed once again (expect some more changes in the incoming weeks) – but the content remains… Enjoy!

A podcast shell for the Radio Gallery website, designed by Damien Poulain.
‘Radio Gallery’ is a series of 12 commissioned radio programmes that treat one hour of radio as exhibition space. The contributors are artists and curators most of whom have not worked with radio before and whose practices do not necessarily have a relationship to sound.

A re-interpretation of the traditionnal tree representation by Damien Poulain and I – this design pushed the tree listing representation a bit further, adding simple yet effective visual enhancement of information’s layers and sub menues.

The minimalism and apparent classical simplicity trough the choice of colors and typography is counter balanced by the menu elements coming on top when hovered.

Åbäke and I designed a simple and effective website for the east london gallery Hollybush Gardens based on the printed identity Åbäke designed for them. The idea was to make the geo location of the gallery as obviously as possible; they also can access the archives and the presentation of artists, current exhibition and what’s planned for the forthcoming exhibitions.

The conceptual electronic presence of the Macondo café on Hoxton Square (London), this was the first website design of the Macondo which lasted for quite some time from August 2005 to November 2007.
The evolving color of the background was setting the stage along with a post mixed record of the ambient sound – giving a sort of strange pre-impression of being at the café. The website was purely informative: it had only text and no seductive pictures, since the idea was for people to be there and not in front of a computer screen.
They since moved off of this identity track Daniel Mair and I designed.

the background color used a 10×10 gif animation
