When light strikes your eyes, it takes some hundreds of milliseconds before you become conscious of the event. As a consequence, you are always living in the past. This strange fact of our existence is well known is neuroscience, but there’s an interesting, underappreciated consequence: you may not ever become aware of the thing that kills you.

A service that lets Blender (3d graphics software) tweets periodically its progress for a particulary long calculation.
you can do massive operations in Blender (such as animation rendering, particles baking, fluid simulator baking, softbody baking) and be notified once each 15 frames. And then you can go to the beach, go home, take a nap . . . worriedlessly, being sure that as soon as Blender get in your frame, he will let you know.

a notebook service which involves archives, scanning and some handmade manufacturing.
* when talking to Pierre about a possible new project based on notebooks and transmission, he sent me this link – it feels really strange when you read others with very similar ideas: it feels like you have tuned the same channel in the noosphere – magic!

When the first coffee shops appeared, they functioned as "third places" where writers, businessmen, philosophers, scientists and assorted deep thinkers gathered and shared ideas over a cup of joe. Four hundred years later, we're keeping the tradition alive by setting up gatherings of developers, IT pros, web designers and assorted geeks at coffee shops to get together, share ideas, support local business and build communities.

Join The New Zealand Internet Blackout to protest against the Guilt Upon Accusation law 'Section 92A' that calls for internet disconnection based on accusations of copyright infringement without a trial and without any evidence held up to court scrutiny. This is due to come into effect on February 28th unless immediate action is taken by the National Party.
